| Rugby legends play Old Actonians
Rugby legends Lawrence Dallaglio, Jason Leonard and Zinzan Brooke took on players from Old Actonian rugby club at the sports and social club in Gunnersbury Drive, Acton, on Sunday, 29 April 2007. The final score was 22-10 to the Old Actonians, winning the Samson Trophy. The £17,000 raised will be split between the Shooting Star Children's Hospice, in West London, Middlesex Wooden Spoon and the Samson Centre Project, a therapy centre for MS patients started by John Hambly, a former captain of the Old Actonians XV and MS sufferer.
England World Cup winners Dallaglio and Leonard, and All-Black legend Brooke played in the McGee Select XV, organised by local construction company The McGee Group. Ealing resident, Stuart Barclay, 42, has been involved with the Old Actonians for the last six years and helped organise the charity matches. He said: "It was a fantastic day. We had twice as many people as last year. There was lots of rugby played, lots of food eaten and lots of kids' faces painted."
